RIGHT WAY TO BEFRIEND PEOPLE ACCORDING IN THE BIBLE

WHY DO WE NEED TO GET FRIENDS?

A) Proverbs 27:10 Thine own friend, and thy father's friend, forsake not; neither go into thy brother's house in the day of thy calamity: for better is a neighbour that is near than a brother far off.

B) Ecclesiastes 4:9 Two are better than one; because they have a good reward for their labour.  

Ecclesiastes 4:10 For if they fall, the one will lift up his fellow: but woe to him that is alone when he falleth; for he hath not another to help him up.

NOW WHAT KIND OF FRIENDS DO WE NEED TO CHOOSE:

1) We must choose the same way of what God is doing:

Psalms 25:14 The Lord confides in those who fear him; he makes his covenant known to them. (NIV)

So we must choose the people who fear God because God befriends those who fear Him.The Fear of the Lord is to stay away from evil (read Proverbs 16:6)

EXAMPLES OF ACTIONS BEING DONE BY A GOOD FRIEND:

A) John 15:13 Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.

B) Proverbs 27:6 Faithful are the wounds of a friend; but the kisses of an enemy are deceitful. (CORRECTING WHEN YOU ARE WRONG)

C) Proverbs 18:24 There is a friend that sticketh closer than a brother. (make friend like you own him as one of your brothers in a blood family)

D) THOSE WHO BEFRIEND REGARDLESS OF ANY SOCIAL STATUS THAT MOST MEN DONT DO IT TODAY

1 Samuel 18:1 The soul of Jonathan was knit with the soul of David, and Jonathan loved him as his own soul.

We must remember that David was poor during that time and Jonathan was rich.

Now What are God's commandment on treating your friends?

2) Matthew 7:12 Therefore all things whatsoever ye would that men should do to you, do ye even so to them: for this is the law and the prophets.

3) DONT REWARD THE DEED OF YOUR FRIEND THAT IS GOOD TO AN EVIL ONE WHY?

Proverbs 17:13 Whoso rewardeth evil for good, evil shall not depart from his house.

NOW WHAT DOES GOD COMMANDED TO WHOM NOT TO BEFRIEND?

1 Corinthians 15:33 Do not be deceived: “Bad company ruins good morals. (English Standard Version)

WHAT ARE THE EXAMPLES OF THESE KIND OF PEOPLE?

A) Proverbs 23:20 Be not among winebibbers; among riotous eaters of flesh:
     Proverbs 23:21 For the drunkard and the glutton shall come to poverty: and drowsiness shall clothe a man with rags.

B) Proverbs 24:21 Meddle not with them that are given to change: (Always change his mind)

C) Proverbs 22:24 Make no friendship with an angry man; and with a furious man thou shalt not go:

    Proverbs 22:25 Lest thou learn his ways, and get a snare to thy soul.

D) Proverbs 1:10 My son, if sinners entice thee, consent thou not.

Proverbs 1:11 If they say, Come with us, let us lay wait for blood, let us lurk privily for the innocent without cause:

Proverbs 1:14 Cast in thy lot among us; let us all have one purse: (ROBBERS AND GAMBLERS)

E) Proverbs 20:19 He that goeth about as a talebearer revealeth secrets: therefore meddle not with him that flattereth with his lips.
