What is the meaning of LOVE OF MONEY IS THE ROOT OF ALL EVIL? does it mean enriching yourself is already bad even you do not forget our Lord God? What kind of enriching that God is against that will lead you to the root of all evil?
The answer is this:
Proverbs 13:11 Wealth gotten by vanity shall be diminished: but he that gathereth by labour shall increase.
"Wealth from get-rich-quick schemes quickly disappears; wealth from hard work grows over time." (New Living Translation)
THE EXAMPLES OF WEALTH GOT FROM VANITY OR EVIL ARE:
1) BY MEANS OF DECEPTION (EXAMPLE IS ESTAFA)
Proverbs 21:6 The getting of treasures by a lying tongue is a vanity tossed to and fro of them that seek death.
2) BY STEALING AND GAMBLING
Proverbs 1:10 My son, if sinners entice thee, consent thou not.
Proverbs 1:11 If they say, Come with us, let us lay wait for blood, let us lurk privily for the innocent without cause:
Proverbs 1:12 Let us swallow them up alive as the grave; and whole, as those that go down into the pit:
Proverbs 1:13 We shall find all precious substance, we shall fill our houses with spoil:
Proverbs 1:14 Cast in thy lot among us; let us all have one purse:
REMEMBER, IT WAS GOD WHO MADE A MAN A WEALTHY:
Deuteronomy 8:18 But thou shalt remember the LORD thy God: for it is he that giveth thee power to get wealth, that he may establish his covenant which he sware unto thy fathers, as it is this day.
If enriching is wrong, God will never enrich a man. WHAT IS BAD IN ENRICHING IS FORGETTING GOD WHO MADE YOU TO BECOME A RICH MAN.
Besides, It was God who said not to be lazy by the words of Paul (read Hebrews 6:12)
And God promised that a diligent will be rich (Proverbs 10:4)
and RICHES as reward to those who fear God (Proverbs 22:4)
